DOE Annual Review Conference

Recently, Big Sky Partnership team members returned from Pittsburgh after participating in the U.S. Department of Energy’s Carbon Storage Research & Development Project Review Meeting. At the three day event, Dr. Lee Spangler, BSCSP Project Director, delivered a presentation on recent Kevin Dome Field Project progress to an audience of national leaders, scientists, and government officials.

Further, team members including by Dr. Spangler, Dr. Dave Bowen, Dr. Bill Carey, Lindsey Tollefson, and Stacey Fairweather presented five posters on BSCSP’s recent work at Kevin Dome –including the following:
1) Background Surface Assurance Monitoring, 2) Tools for Effective Data Integration, 3) Geologic and Geophysical Update, 4) Lessons Learned through the Permitting Process, and 5) Pre-site Characterization Risk Assessment.

At the Big Sky Partnership booth, the team also screened our seismic outreach film, “What’s Shaking on Kevin Dome” and distributed outreach handouts and materials. Overall, our work was very well received in Pittsburgh, and we look forward to participating in next year’s conference.
